Hello, Mr.Kamakura. How are you doing? I'm so happy! Because I was able to notice that I have been living such a wonderful life since I was born. You must be thinking the reason why I am writing such a thing. The answer is simple, I just have thought it is the most valuable discovery of my experience in Australia. Why was I able to discover it? In the last week, I was doing kayaking camp in the Gippsland lakes as a school outdoor education. It was so hard and interesting that I was able to notice quite a few valuable things like an importance of the foods and water. Then I could feel thankful to our daily life after came back house.
Now, I am enjoying the time with my host family.
< Three weeks ago...>
The day before yesterday, Tokoha high school students who stayed with me left Australia. We played billiards and soccer with John during three days after school. Although we sometimes talked in Japanese, we were trying to communicate in English as long as these days.
On this Friday, we had a swimming carnival at the pool borrowed from the sports facilities. I would like to take part in the many events. However I couldn't because of too many participants from my house. I was impressed. Because almost all students are very positive for everything compared with Japanese students.
Every-day classes are very difficult for me. General science and physics are very difficult in particular.  As you know, we've never learnt science of senior school, however I am learning now. So I am doing preparation for lessons, moreover, in English with native speakers in Australia!!  It's funny, isn't it?  That's it for this week. See yah!!  N.S.
Dear Mr. Kamakura. How are you?
I'm sorry to late sending the e-mail for you. Because I was very busy during this half and two weeks. I had a swimming carnival in Feb 13th at school and I did 50m freestyle (U17) and 50m freestyle (U18). In addition, I got prizes that are first and third. Also I could join the community badminton club. I practice it two or three times a week. What is more, I had a badminton competition which is school sports match. I went to the gym close to the city and played it. I participated in senior match and played five games. This was very interesting for me because I could interact with Australian students through badminton. Of course, I won all the games!
For classes, I take a visual creative design which is like an art class in Japanese. That teaches me how to draw 3G. Moreover, I have to do presentation about environmental issues which is related to design. Therefore, I will do presentation using PowerPoint and with a short movie. Also, I had an excursion in Feb 23th which is about Japanese class. I could eat Japanese food that was first time to eat in Australia.
I really enjoy staying in Australia now but there are only three weeks left before this program ends. Therefore, I want to cherish day by day.

Hi, Mr. Kamakura.
How are you doing? I'm enjoying life in Australia. And I'm used to it already. I had many events from last report to now. First, I will write about swimming carnival. We went to a public swimming pool. Some people were dressing something. I needed to choose an event. So I chose breaststroke. I thought I will take part in under sixteen, but my house leader said, "You take part in open". I was surprised to hear that. However I had no opinion. So I accepted the house leader's command. Honestly, I had no confidence. But I won this race. I got the first place! What a coincidence! I was happy after the race.
Next, I will write about volleyball competition. We went to public gym. I found other Japanese exchange students there. They also joined the volleyball competition. But I didn't compete with the other Japanese exchange students. And I was chosen for the captain that time. Honestly, I was surprised that I was chosen for the captain. My team almost got the championship. We lost to opponent in playoff. So my team was the second place. It was bitterly disappointing to have lost the playoff. However, thanks to this competition, we got a bond among teammate. I think it is a good thing.
Then I will write about today's SEISS swimming carnival. I didn't understand it. So I asked to my coordinator. Then my coordinator said, "This is next stage of previous swimming carnival". I could take part in this swimming carnival because I got the first place in previous swimming carnival. First I swam breaststroke again. I got the third place. But I was satisfied with the result. Next I swam 200m of the crawl. It was so hard that I thought I would die. I felt sick after the race. But thanks to this swimming carnival, I could make a lot of friends. I want to say to myself that I did a good job. So I'll keep on trying.
Have a good one! From Y.A.
Hello. How are you? I'm pretty good!! I am used to living in Australia. So I always study English!! On the 24th, I had swimming competition. I had medley relay, 50m butterfly, freestyle relay and age relay. Before I did swimming competition, I had thought that almost all Australian students can swim very well. Because they look strong. It means they are tall and muscularity. To tell the truth, they are not so fast. I won the first prize in 50m butterfly and medley relay. I was very surprised and happy. And I was filled with pride of I was chosen the member of age relay. Age relay is what the representative of years were chosen. We couldn't win the first prize. But I was very excited because I was very proud of it. I won the first prize in 50m butterfly so I have swimming competition bigger than before in 12th March. I think it is good experience for me. It means I can do swimming competition and learn English. So I'll do my best!! By the way I found one thing when swimming competition. It is how to divide into group is divide lengthwise. So it means it is like Harry Potter. So the pecking order is nothing!! So they are good friends. I was very surprised. But I thought it is very good discovery. I could learn the Australian culture. So this day was a very good day!!
On 4th March, I cooked Japanese food for my host family again!! Today I cooked Japanese noodle. It means I cooked Udon!! I could cook very well this time. And my host family was pleased with my Udon. My host family is interested in Mentsuyu. My brother asked me why it is so delicious. When I heard it, I was very happy. And I was proud of Japan!! And my host mother told me it was very healthy and delicious. And I thought "Of course!" because it is Japanese food. It is said that Japanese food is good for our health.
On 5th March, other Japanese students and I did presentation about Japanese government. I thought it was difficult for us. Because first, we needed to understand when we talk. Second, I needed to talk very clearly. It means everyone can understand when we talk. Third, the words that is about government is very very difficult for us, for example constitutionality, designation, impeachment etc. They are very long and their pronunciations are very difficult. But we did our best. Our teacher was very pleased and satisfied with us. I thought my teacher is a very good teacher because he gave us very good experience.
I enjoyed to live Australia. I think I was used to living Australia. So I need to do good communication and learn English. So I'll try to speak more than now and learn a lot of things!!

Hello Mr. Kamakura!
I went to church in February 22nd. Then I met a Japanese woman. She has an Australian husband and two children. She is from Kyoto. I talked with her in English and Japanese.
We had Swimming Carnival in February 24th. I could swim fast about free style. So I can participate to second swimming carnival in March 12th. I'm looking forward to it!! I talked with some Year 10 students. They are good people, so sometimes I talk with them at school.
We did presentation about Japan in commerce class. I talked about Japanese culture. And other boys talked about Japanese government. Our presentation was successful. And I felt "my English skills are better than before I came to Australia."
I told about Japanese festival for my host family. For example, Doll Festival then I presented Japanese doll. I will try to tell more until I go back to Japan. My English teacher gave me big homework. I have to write about "Differences between Japan and Australia." It is easy for me. Because I can find it every day.
I play basketball almost every day with my host brothers, so I'm good at basketball than before. We went to nursing home with our coordinator. Then we taught to old people about Origami. But it was very hard, because I didn't know about how to teach Origami in English. My coordinator helped me, then I did it.
See you soon. Bye!! From T.S.
Hello. How are you? I have only three weeks. I have never experienced such gone by quickly. So, I'll make good memories with my host family and friends. Anyway, I experienced something funny. So, I'll tell you about it. One day, we left house a little bit late. Usually, it's no problem. But, then that day was athletic carnival!! A bus has already gone to arena!!! Of course, there was nobody! So, I asked office worker to take me to the arena. She was very kind and I thanked her. It was my fault.
On March 11th, I helped with office workers because then a lot of children came to school. I taught them how to make tambourine. I felt explanation is difficult. I attached pictures with my friends when I took it then.

Hello, Mr Kamakura. I'll talk about my holiday.
7/Feb/2015-8/Feb/2015
On Saturday, I went to beach. It was second time to go there. At this time, I did surfing called Buggy Boarding. At that time, it was very cold, so I didn't want to get water. But Buggy Boarding was very fun. And I got wave about 10times. At night, I went to beach again, and watched the penguin show. A lot of penguins came back from the sea. The penguins were smaller than penguins in zoo in Japan. On Sunday, I came back from Beach house.
14/Feb/2015-15/Feb/2015
On Saturday, I went to Melbourne City with my host father and sister. First, we went to aqua realm named SEA LIFE. I remember there are many foreign country people there. An Indian family spoke to me to take photo and they said they came to Australia to watch Cricket World Cup. After that, we rode on the train, and went to a tower. It is the tallest tower in Melbourne .We went on top of the tower by very fast elevator. We could see all of the Melbourne City. It was very nice. See you next time!
